The Happy Couple!

How we met

We met in the dorms at Humboldt State University during our freshman year. Eduardo was living in Sunset and Amber was living in the Wellness dorm, Hemlock Hall. A little more than half way through our first semester Eduardo was not happy with his roommate and finally decided to change dorms. The first time we "officially" met is when Eduardo came to check out his soon to be new room and roommates. His new room was in one of the suites on the 1st floor of the building (the boys' floor) and Amber was hanging out there when we met. Now this was the official meeting but Eduardo had seen Amber at a few parties before we officially met, but he wouldn't remember this until later. We quickly became friends but it took a little while before Amber figured out that Eduardo liked her. But once she realized, she liked him too. It didn't become official though until the day Amber got back from Thanksgiving break and Eduardo proposed dating with a song, "I wanna be your boyfriend" by the Ramones.
Us just a couple weeks after we started dating

The Proposal
Amber had been gently persuading Eduardo to pop the question for quite a while by now since we'd been dating over 5 years and plus the fact that Eduardo had made a promise that he would propose before Amber graduated (and it was coming up soon!). Because of this and the fact that Eduardo is a bad liar Amber had a pretty good idea about when and where the proposal was going to be. That doesn't take away from the fact that it still was great. The plan was to go to Patrick's Point State Park for a hike and picnic 0n Sunday but because of the weather predicting rain that was changed to Saturday even though Amber was pressed for time to photograph a wedding later that day. So we went on our hike but there were a couple of complications (like Eduardo's camera dying) along the way so after we were done hiking we went back to the car and drove to our picnic spot at Wedding Rock (coincidence? didn't think so...). On the way there a lovely song came on the radio, "Realize" by Colbie Caillat, which talks about love and realizing that you are meant to be with someone the rest of your life (Fate? We like to think so...). So now we are finally at Wedding Rock and eat our picnic. After eating Amber gets up and walks over to the rock wall edge (to give Eduardo a chance to collect his nerves and the ring of course! ;) ). He shortly joins her and says, "Amber, you are my friend, and my lover. Like you there is no other. You are the love of my life. Will you marry me and become my wife?". Of course Amber says "YES!" and Eduardo tells her how the center stone is actually her late grandmother's (there's the surprise factor!!)
